Mid-Level Business Planner

Peraton is seeking a Mid-level Business Planner to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Business Planner III works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.  The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.

Our Mid-level Business Planner performs a variety of non-complex assembly and disassembly tasks to perform functional tests for quality of product according to specifications. Specific tasks include: 

• Participates in determining objectives and planning of assignment/projects
• Work reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
• Provides supporting information for quoting projects, status, workforce level, equipment availability, and other company capabilities
• Represents organization as a contact on contracts or projects
• Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant program or project matters often requiring coordination between organizations
• Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems
• Extensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts
• Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations
• Performs other related tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years related work experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years related work experience or HS diploma or equivalent with 9+ years related work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
• U.S Citizenship
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
• Demonstrate appropriate people leadership characteristics
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Depot level repair experience
• Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training

Physical Requirements:

• Sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• Physical activity may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
