Responsibilities

 

We are Hiring! We are looking for a Network Cloud Architect (AWS) that will join a high performing team supporting the overall activities of network and/or telecommunications systems planning, engineering and operations. This position is fully remote.

 

What you will do:

  • Research, develop and design enterprise networking systems leveraging AWS or other cloud network tools for high-performance applications.
  • SME and technical responsibly for all areas of network for complex multi-account environment using FedRAMP-certified services. including ELB, SG, DirectConnect and Transit Gateways, etc.
  • Responsible to protect application availability by filtering inbound Internet traffic using features such as Access Control List (ACL) rules, stateful inspection, protocol detection, and intrusion prevention.
  • Responsible for the Web Application Firewall (WAF) design and implementation to ensure filtering and monitoring HTTP traffic between a web application and the Internet.
  • Maintain and ensure the ongoing stability and continuous operations of custom-build enterprise network including hybrid (AWS/on-premises) and connectivity with external partners.
  • Lead technical teams of Architects and Engineers to design and implement enhancements to the connectivity, structure, security of the cloud environment following infrastructure-as-a-code principles including automation and configuration.
  • Perform requirements gathering, gap analysis, technical studies, risk assessments and vendor selection.
  • Propose and implement architectural solutions to provide additional functionality and address new AWS infrastructure components and security requirements.
  • Create and maintain system network architecture documentation.
  • Lead incident management efforts to investigate, mitigate and resolve network related issues.
  • Research and prototype new products, tools, technologies.
  • Maintain processes and technical documentation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • 10 years of experience of leading the design, development and deployment of AWS cloud-based network solutions
  • Expertise in designing and implementing VPCs, VPC routing, and VPC security.
  • Strong AWS/security aspects/Amazon products/IP V6/transit gateway
  • Experience with Ansible Tower, shell, Python, Ruby, and PowerShell
  • Experience with Security Role Base Access Management
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, GitOps, Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Atlantis, Ansible, Packer, Python, CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of AWS infrastructure and services including but not limited to AWS Landing Zone, AWS multi-account strategy, EKS, ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, API Gateway, ALB, Route 53, Transit Gateway, IAM, AWS Config, etc.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Advanced Networking Certification required.
  • Strong background with automating network management through DevOps scripting including AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience delivering solutions and administering systems in a cloud environment using laaS and PaaS offerings.
  • Experience interfacing with in-house software developers and 3rd party software vendors to understand the business applications, cloud tools, and requirements to design efficient network and security solutions.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance( 6C Public Trust)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in a highly collaborative client facing environment.
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • Proven experience preparing and presenting technical documentation to various audiences including other technical architects and executives.
  • Hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting large enterprise systems in a production environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments or projects in parallel, balancing time and schedule based on the business.
  • Experience working for the Federal government.
  • Experience meeting Federal government security requirements, FIPS, DISA, NIST, FISAM, 1075, etc.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
