Secretary

Peraton is seeking a Secretary 2 to support our Deep Space Network (DSN) Operations and Maintenance O&M contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and NASA in Fort Irwin, CA.

The Deep Space Network is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, plus a few that orbit Earth. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding our spacecraft and receiving their never before seen images and scientific information on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system and ultimately, our place within it.

Provides secretarial support to the Maintenance Manager and subordinate staff.  Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the manager and his staff.  Works fairly independently, receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance.  Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the department.

Responsibilities:

• Create, update documents and reports in the required format.
• Perform data entry into various software databases.
• Research and review existing legacy documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Maximo and Foxpro/Access database data entry

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4+ years of relative experience.
• Familiarity with Maximo Computer based Maintenance Management System.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft products.
• Must possess and retain a valid California driver's license.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and procedures without direct supervision.
• Good communications skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to undergo a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

• Type 45 wpm.
