Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Cyber Emerging Technologies Technical Writer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a technical writer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide Engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at the customer site. As a Cyber Emerging Technologies Technical Writer on our team, you will support the customer’s effort to leverage critical and emerging technologies for defensive mitigation.  You will:

  • Create guidance and technical documents/briefs and Issue papers to customer and DoD leaders,
  • Prepare, review, revise and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing and user documentation,
  • Write and edit technical and code documentation for all project hardware and software, to include installation, configuration, and how-to artifacts,
  • Provide field data definition and data flow documentation and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and collaboration with technical personnel and other available resources.

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • Four (4) years of additional TW experience (at least 10 total years) may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience documenting systems, and systems of systems in accordance with systems engineering standards and practices.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • A basic understanding of customer compliance rules and policies would be ideal but selected individual will be provided formal customer compliance policy training upon assignment to the task.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
