Cyber Systems Engineer

Peraton is seeking a motivated Cyber Systems Engineer at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA to support operations, maintenance, and sustainment activities associated with the Eastern/Western Range Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) Contract.

• Design, plan, implement, configure, and test Information Technology (IT) systems related to MDA Work Orders, Flight Test Support, and Launch and Mission Assurance Communications Systems.
• Provide technical specifications and detailed design documentation for IT system architectures
• Provide engineering support for the operations, maintenance, and sustainment of IT systems
• Work with Information Assurance Analysts and System Administrators to identify and implement security best practices in all engineering solutions, including implementation of IAVMs and CTOs
• Support troubleshooting and corrective actions for system/hardware failures
• Perform technical and cost/benefit analysis for hardware and software selections and implementation methods
• Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the IT systems
• Performs other duties and assignments as required

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA degree, or equivalent engineering experience, plus 8+ years of IT design, installation, and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with IT system design, configuration and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, servers (Windows and Linux), and virtual environments
• Experience auditing and implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRG)
• Active DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II certification (Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, GICSP)
• Active Computing Environment certification (Juniper, RedHat, Windows, Vmware)
• Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks
• Possess active Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Have experience working in a DevSecOps environment
• Have knowledge of automation tools such as Red Hat Ansible, Puppet or Chef
• Have knowledge in one or more programming languages: C++, Java, Javascript, HTML,etc.
• Have experience working with Internet of Things (IoT)/Operational Technology (OT) devices
• Have knowledge or experience with Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and/or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems
• Ability to work with technically and geographically diverse engineering teams and interacting with external customers
• Have strong verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite
