Information Assurance/ Security Engineer

Peraton is seeking a motivated Informatin Assurance Engineer at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA to support operations, maintenance, and sustainment activities associated with the Eastern/Western Range Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) Contract.

• Act as the Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all design, development, and integration activities associated with the EWOCS Program ensuring that all required security functions are implemented IAW DoDI 8510.01 and compliant with DoDI 8500.01 without impacting system functionality
• Perform Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
• Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments and develop documentation and reports
• Develop Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for non-compliant security controls
• Develop policies, plans and procedures, including Incident Response, Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations and Cybersecurity Implementation Plans
• Develop scenarios and test Incident Response and Continuity plans via table top reviews.
• Act as primary technical interface to the government and contract partners for recurring status and technical interchange meetings
• Perform other duties and assignments as required

Required Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent security experience plus 8+ years of cybersecurity or information assurance experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience using Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls and policies
• Possess active Information Assurance Management (IAM) II certification (CISSP, CISM, CAP, CASP)
• Have experience with one or more of the following:
• Vulnerability management and tools such as ACAS
• Endpoint Security concepts and tools
• Security Intelligence and Event Management (SIEM) concepts and tools
• Have experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
• Experience conducting Information Systems vulnerability assessments, risk mitigation, and Plan of Action and Milestone (POAM) development and tracking
• Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiple tasks
• Possess active Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Have knowledge or experience with Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and/or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems
• Have experience leading a security team and interacting with external customers
• Have strong verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite
