Senior Linux Administrator

Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to provide support of ServiceNow Linux based software by engineering, implementing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining systems and application software running on the Linux platform.  Responsibilities include:

• Installing and maintaining the ServiceNow Linux Operating Systems
• Troubleshooting system and user problems
• Performing maintenance on both hardware and software, evaluate, test, and integrate upgrades
• Scan, patch, remediate, and document security vulnerabilities for the OS as well as prepare all documentation for organization-wide Certification & Accreditation requirements
• Create well documented SOPs
• Shell scripting for routine tasks
• Collaborate with ServiceNow developers and management to select appropriate design solutions and/or ensure compatibility of system components
• Design and development of integrated solutions

• Implement and document processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices
• Understand user needs and expectations for system function
• Implement and manage the transfer of newly identified / developed technologies into the existing environment; examine architectural and interoperability issues; and identify and resolve service constraints

• BS 12-14, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
• 10+ years of Unix operating system experience
• 8+ years Linux operating system experience including system internals, file system structures, design, and performance tuning at an enterprise level; backup recovery; testing methodologies; storage; data replication; and DISA system hardening guidelines
• Experience with Solaris operating system
• Proven experience ensuring compliance with all regulations, optimizing system performance, and supporting future planning
• General knowledge of ITIL and the use of MS Project
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) credentials as an Oracle Solaris System Administrator desired
• Must possess an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
