Contractor Special Security Officer

Peraton Labs is seeking a candidate to fill a position in Silver Spring, MD as a Contractor Special Security Officer/Contractor Program Security Officer. The candidate will be responsible for security management of multiple classified programs and a secure facility.  Job tasks include the following:

• Perform as the CPSO/CSSO responsible for the management and oversight of multiple SAP programs and future SCI programs.
• Direct interface with the Government, including the Program Management Office, Program Security Officer, and Special Security Officer in support of on-going security tasks and requirements, investigations, and security audits.
• Oversee the day-to-day management and physical accreditation of SCIF and a SAPF environments; enforce compliance with ICD and DOD Manual policy for SCI and SAP management.
• Prepare for and participate in Government inspections/audits of classified programs and secure areas.
• Represent Security during program staff meetings and provide consultation and advice based on Government and company security policies and procedures to Program Managers, Functional staff and team members.
• Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
• Conduct security briefings including SCI and SAP indoctrination and debriefings, annual refresher training, SCIF orientation, foreign travel briefings, and others as required.
• Consult on the handling of sensitive and classified data in accordance with customer directives as specified in the program’s Security Classification Guide.
• Oversee the physical security integrity of the Silver Spring facility, to include oversight of guard support, operation of access control, CCTV, and emergency response and contingency planning.

• Must have relevant experience in industrial security programs.
• Strong working knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DODM 5105.21 and DODM 5205.07.  
• The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions in the midst of ambiguity and meet deadlines.
• The successful candidate must be a self-starter that needs minimal supervision. Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8 years experience with a Bachelors degree or 6 years experience with a Masters degree. Years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Must be SCI eligible with the DOD and able to attain SAP access

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a CSSO and/or CPSO
• Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives
• Knowledge of DODM 5105.21 and DODM 5205.07
• Knowledge of DISS, NISS, JADE and SIMS databases
• SAP Level 1 Certification
