Signature Materials Engineer

Peraton is looking for a Materials Engineer to join our team in West Bethesda, MD. This position supports the US Navy's Signature Physics Program. This program directly supports US Navy warfighters by developing signature control technologies on US Navy platforms. 

This is a full time onsite position in West Bethesda, MD.

What you'll do:

This high visibilty position supports signature control materials design, production, fabrication, and test .  

• Design and produce new polymer materials that meet government specified physical criteria
• Use hand tools (sanders, grinders, saws, etc) to fabricate materials for installation and test
• Work with polymers, metals, and wood
• Perform mechanical design using Solidworks  
• Support material installagtion and test activities at shipyards and other NSWCCD sites

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5-7 years of experience. 
• 5 years experience with Solidworks
• Extensive experience with hand tools
• Experience working with polymers, metal, and wood.
• Experienced with MS Office Suite 
• Active DoD SECRET clearance
