R&D CAD Engineer

Peraton is looking for a R&D Design Engineer to join our team in West Bethesda, MD. This position supports the US Navy's Signature Physics Program. This program directly supports US Navy warfighters by performing research, development, and test of signature control technologies on US Navy platforms. 

This is a full time onsite position in West Bethesda, MD.

What you'll do:

This high visibility position performs rapid design and fabrication of naval platform signature control R&D articles for installation and test .  

• Use Solidworks to design R&D test items from polymers, metals, and wood
• Develop briefs and presentations on articles designed
• Perform design of articles using experimental materials that meet government specified physical criteria

The position also offers opportunities to perform hands-on support to new signature control work

• Use hand tools (sanders, grinders, saws, etc) to fabricate , install, and test articles
• Support article installation and test activities at shipyards and other NSWCCD sites

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5-7 years of experience. 
• 5 years experience with Solidworks
• Experienced with MS Office Suite 
• Active DoD SECRET clearance 

Desired:

• Experience with hand tools (sanders, grinders, saws, etc)
• Shipyard Experience
