Duties of Cyber Operations Planner

  • A cyber operations planner is responsible for developing and implementing plans and strategies for defending against cyber attacks and for conducting offensive cyber operations. Duties may include:
  • Coordinate and establish joint operation planning objectives as well as mission essential tasks in support of combat and contingency operations.
  • Provide input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution and assisting in the coordination of joint operational planning in support of training and exercises.
  • Conduct research of current and emerging threats to key terrain in cyberspace.
  • Ensure the planning process of the Yongsan Relocation Program for the Joint Cyberspace Center (JCC) is aligned with the overall planning efforts for the move to USAG Humphreys.
  • Monitor and review strategies, doctrines, policies, directives, and instructions from higher echelon headquarters making recommendations to ensure compliance and/or consideration in planning efforts.
  • Attend Senior Leadership (SL) meetings such as Joint Planning Boards, Senior Integrating Boards and Commander's Decision Board as required.
  • Participate in Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) with internal and external organizations as required.
    Prepare for and participate in Commander's Table Top Exercises and Exercise ROC Drills as required.
  • Prepare for and host the organization weekly Projects and Plans meeting.
  • Write information papers, white papers and MOUs, MOA and MFR as required for SL approval.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • BS 2-4 Years or HS 6-8
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with cyber operations planning
  • Must have at least one of the following certifications: Network+ CE, A+ CE, CCNA-Security, SSCP or an approved equivalent
  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Invited Contractor status under the ROK/US Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
