Sr. Systems Architect

Peraton is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for various future opportunities.  We are currently seeking a Sr. Systems Architect

Our team supports technical solutions associated with the collection, processing, and exploitation of assured, relevant, and timely oceanographic, meteorological, hydrographic, precise time and astrometric information for the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC). Candidates who join our team play an integral role in the design, development, and innovative modernization of the IT infrastructure used to provide meteorology and oceanography support to warfighters afloat and ashore. We will maintain, upgrade, and modernize the IT infrastructure to include engineering, software development, administration, and data management.

Must be a US Citizen and hold a DoD Secret clearance, Top Secret clearance preferred

This is a hybrid on site/telework environment.

Candidates must be within a commutable distance from the primary physical location they are hired for

This work includes but is not limited to:

• Senior Architect who independently performs a variety of system design and integration tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with design, implementation and architecting of major systems, systems of systems, integration of systems elements and related support systems.
• Supervises a broad team of engineers through project completion.
• Plans and performs systems engineering research, design, development, integration, and other assignments in conformance with system design, engineering, and customer specifications.
• Supervises broad team of systems engineers.
• Responsible for highly complex technical/engineering projects.
• Leads team in technical areas.
• May perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Experience/Education:  

• BS 14+ MS 12+ PhD 10+
• Hold an active/current DoD Secret clearance, Top Secret clearance preferred
• 7+ years implementing enterprise Java applications
• 7+ years designing multi-tier web applications, programming applications to run in a web environment
• 7+ years managing servers in a virtual environment
• 7+ years Working with one or more of the following Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• 3+ years in cloud computing, including various deployment and service models
• Working in agile, software development and production environment
• Systems analysis, development, and implementation using a variety of technologies
• Working in a continuous integration environment
• Experience in common cloud providers
• Ability to design systems supporting applications on-prem and in the cloud, including understanding application dependency on operating system, network, web-based, and cloud technologies.
• Architect level certification such as:
  • Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence (EACOE) Architect Certifications,
  • Enterprise Architect
  • Senior Enterprise Architect
  • Distinguished Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architecture Fellow
  • Black Belt Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA)
  • Federal Enterprise Architect (FEA)
  • Certified SOA Architect
  • Open CA Open Group Certified Architect
  • or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCSA)

Desired Experience:  

• Working with REST API and Service Oriented Architecture
• Shell scripting in a Linux and/or Windows operating environment
• Understanding of Geospatial databases
• Evaluation of compliance with security
• Working in a High-Performance Computing environment
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining containerized architectures
• DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF) experience
• Working with one or more of the following Databases:
  • PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostGIS, MySQL
• Working with one or more of the following application/Web Servers:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform (EAP), Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Wildfly, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Working with one or more of the following other Services/Software:
  • Podman, AWS EC2, AWS ECS, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Git, BitBucket, Atlassian Software Suite, Ansible
