Applications Programmer

Peraton seeks an mid-level Applications Programmer / Developer for our team located near Herndon, VA. The Application Programmer will be responsible for:

• Developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining complex applications and/or databases.
• Drafting technical program documentation, such as end-user operational instructions.
• Developing and maintaining software applications and/or databases, including web applications and user interfaces.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Technical field with 8+ years of related experience. (An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.) 
• An active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
• Prior experience in:
  • Software Development Lifecycle
  • Software design patterns
  • Agile development processes and implementation.
  • Secure coding standards
  • Requirements creation/management and configuration management tools
  • Configuration/change management systems
  • Integration and debugging using integrated development environments (IDE)
  • Developing software tests and test-automation suites.
  • Providing software maintenance, support and enhancements to existing systems and platforms.
  • At least one or more software languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
• Cloud design, implementation, and configuration
• Security Development Operations (SecDevOps)
• Integration with third (3rd) party applications
