Software Developer

Peraton is seeking an Entry-level Software Engineer in our Chantilly, VA location to support a large software development classified program developing, operating, and maintaining mission critical enterprise capabilities. Program includes development and support for existing mission systems in parallel with effort to develop and deliver modernized cloud native, microservice-based products. Team applies Agile methodology, DevOps principles and behavior and test-driven development practices. Candidate will apply agile development processes to implement features as defined by user stories, 3-week Sprints/3 Month Spins, development using Java full stack, develop/maintain platform related applications and libraries , and develop/maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required. Candidate will resolve database issues and in creating new features/functionality for existing database.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical or scientific fields, such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, information technology, management information systems, or related STEM degree program and 0-2 years of experience
• Strong foundational knowledge working with Java OOP development.
• Willingness to learn and become an effective team member.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• An already active TS/SCI security clearance.
• 3.0 and above GPA.
• Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life-cycle.
• Previous hands-on experience through coursework or internships. 
• Previous hands-on coding experience with Python, Angular, Postgres, & SQL.
