Responsibilities

Peraton requires Subject Matter Experts (SME) CCIE to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract

(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs),

and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and

common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

 

The Subject Matter Expert CCIE serves as the Subject Matter Expert for all core network systems, serving as Tier III echelon support for network IA devices to all units within a global enterprise network and provides escalated technical support to Tier II technicians. In conjunction with other integrated teams, Tier III also provides planning for enterprise IA boundaries for the installation and configuration of all IA network devices located throughout the enterprise, acting as a two-way conduit by consulting with and providing technical guidance to other client sections regarding the testing, planning, and implementation of new network IA devices, as well as facilitating the transition of new capabilities to operations when appropriate. Tier III SME's also assist with the review of external or development of internal policies and plans related to enterprise operations in order to ensure standardization and compliance with NetOps requirements throughout the organization. The Subject Matter Expert CCIE will play an active role in the daily operations of the USSOCOM Information Environment and be instrumental in the overall performance and delivery of services by the Peraton SITEC Team.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as service owner and technical lead for all CISCO technology.
  • Maintain systems on-site in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) recommended engineering and maintenance practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, during non-core hours on the system including scheduled preventive maintenance such as periodic tests, inspections, and all other preventive maintenance services/practices recommended by the OEM and as specified SOPs.
  • Perform maintenance after notification that equipment is inoperative and or malfunctioning.
  • Provide service personnel trained and certified by the respective OEMs sufficient to ensure system performance and compliance with the maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, SOPs.
  • Perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of CISCO routers, switches, and integrated technologies. Ensure that the assigned technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture and applications meet enterprise and security standards. Provides input into infrastructure architecture designs.  
  • Own define, and drive value from the CISCO service and roadmap
  • Ensuring the CISCO estate is effectively managed, and industry best practice is used across the SIE
  • Standardize CISCO forward deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of platforms
  • Create data retention policies and perform index administration, maintenance and optimization.
  • Manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements; and ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices
  • Operationally maintain and develop automation between CISCO, integrated technologies and ITSM platforms to improve accuracy and fine tuning of event-alert-incident correlation. 
  • Configure CISCO devices with the objective of proactively preventing incidents. Where incidents occur, actively support the Incident and Problem management processes to resolve and avoid further occurrences.
  • Cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, change/incident managers, engineers, and senior staff members
  • The position involves actively participating in multiple workgroups at one time and disseminating information across all levels of the organization.
  • Reviewing technical documentation from the build team, such as user guides, manuals, and system specifications, prior to transition into operations, and ensuring their subject area is accurately represented and fit for purpose as a basis to on-board monitoring solutions.
  • Contribute to continual service improvement by challenging, reviewing, updating and where inexistent, creating, processes and procedures to drive operational excellence.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to design and configure tailored monitoring solutions and dashboards within CISCO
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5. Bachelor’s degree is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • DoD 01-M IAT III and CCIE certifications required.
  • Be recognized as an expert in their subject field/technology.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a large enterprise network environment in the DoD space

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
