Responsibilities

This position will provide engineering and oversight activities in support of a Government Program Office. The primary role will be to evaluate the spacecraft propulsion design, development, manufacturing, testing, processing, and troubleshooting of propulsion and avionics subsystems. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent analysis and modeling of spacecraft propulsion design and performance
  • Research and evualate new propulsion technologies as applicable to the customer's mission
  • Provide expert insight into the spacecraft propulsion and avionics systems, designs and analyses
  • Evaluate and present at Engineering Review Boards on technical issues, concerns, and recommendations that affect missions
  • Actively participate and contribute to Design Reviews, Engineering Review Boards, Anomaly Boards, as well as vehicle component Acceptance and Mission Success Reviews
  • Ability to perform independent assessments of spacecraft propulsion/electrical/avionics design, implementation, integration and testing activities in a production and launch operation environment
  • Provide expert and effective insight into the spacecraft provider processes and procedures as well as identify & mitigate risks and determine readiness for flight
  • Ability to evaluate and assess production processes, technical issues, and non-conformances
  • Monitor and assess production schedules and correlating technical issues with scheduling impacts
  • Dependable and self-motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications and Windows OS
  • Travel occasionally as required <10%

 

Qualifications

BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7

 

Required Skills:

  • US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and current polygraph
  • Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
  • More than 5 years’ experience with spacecraft propulsion design, manufacturing, test, and/or operations
  • BS in engineering, physics or related technical degree
  • Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
