Peraton is seeking Summer 2023 Wireless Network Research Interns in support of our Peraton Labs location in Red Bank, NJ.

 

This position will be on-site daily.

Role and responsibility for this position:
We are seeking Interns for Summer 2023 who will work on applied research projects in one or more key areas related to wireless research. Qualified applicants must be able to perform applied research and development in one or more key areas of interest:

  • Software defined radio research
  • Wireless/digital signal processing
  • Fullstack software development
  • Machine learning methods as applied to wireless systems problems
  • Hardware development related to transceiver design.
    • specifically for development of next-gen 5G/6G networks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires High School diploma and some advanced level training.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a BS/BA, MS/MA or PhD degree majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Wireless Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with Python, C/C++ or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Familiarity with the principles and technologies used in modern wireless networks.
  • Ability to integrate, build, and test high-quality technical solutions.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience through coursework, internships or independent project.
  • A passion to learn something new every day and to stay up-to-date with developments in your field.
  • Adept at independent problem-solving and comfortable with a general approach of taking initiative to find and develop solutions.
  • Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas.
  • Familiarity with modern agile development practices (Scrum and similar).
  • Experience with wireless networking protocols.
  • Ability to grasp the “big picture” and see beyond specific problems.
