Software Engineer

Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking motivated Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to support our NOALS program, which provides support to our mission critical Government customer. The NOALS (NOPS Operations and Launch Support) conducts real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS supported operations. 

 

This Sowftware Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

 

The NOALS Software team Writes new software and maintains software that is used for different needs on the program:

• Maintain software used to remotely establish connections for status & control of ground equipment
• Maintain software that handles scheduling of on-orbit contacts, and orbit calculations
• Write software that supports launch operations with trajectory calculations for the SpaceX and ULA vendors
• Provide customized telemetry software solutions for special program requirements
• Write new software that interfaces with a vendor switching architecture solution

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 2 (two) or more years of software development experience or a total of 6 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and take a CI poly
• Experience with Agile software development Java programming language in a Microsoft Windows and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment

Desired Qualifications: 

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration
• Experience with Spring/Spring Boot frameworks
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Experience with VMware toolsets
• Knowledge of object oriented design and how to apply it in software development
• An experienced self-starter who can work and problem solve independently with minimal guidance
• Experience using an IDE for Java software development and a debugger
• Experience with Atlassian toolset (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible)
• Experience with Git distributed version control system
• Experience with Java build system (Ant/Maven/Gradle). Working knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems. Working knowledge of SQL databases

Salary Minimum: $40,000
Salary Mid: $80,000
Salary Maximum: $100,000

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
