Virtualization Administrator

The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator in this role will provide information technology (IT) support to install, configure and administer the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) across multiple enclaves.  The administrator will be responsible for maintaining, and upgrade operating systems, firmware and applications for the virtualized hosts and guest operating systems.

 

What you'll do:

 

Additional responsibilities include verifying that the virtual environment has followed the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) by policy and software updates. Provide customers and internal support staff increased efficiency, leading to a more stable, available environment and monitor enterprise environments using automated tools.

• Responsible for the installation, configuring and troubleshooting issues on VMware ESXi
• Perform VMWare change control and patch management
• Open and manage support requests with VMware when required
• Utilize PowerShell for task automation
• Provide documentation of successful issue resolution, troubleshooting, and procedure implementation daily
• Update, troubleshoot and maintain Persona Management
• Maintain enterprise images to meet security and monthly patch requirements
• Monitor and evaluate the virtual environment utilizing tools such as vRealize Operations Manager
• Package and provision software for the virtual desktops (App Stack)
• Configure Security Groups in Active Directory to link users to software applications
• Comply with relevant information security policies and processes while deploying new hardware and software installations

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors and  5-7 years experience, Masters and 3-5 years experience or PhD 0-2 years experience. In Lieu of degree, 9+ years relevant work or military experience accepted
• Must hold at minimum and active/current DoD Secret clearance. Top Secret preferred with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
• Must obtain/maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II with any of the following certifications (e.g., GSEC, Sec+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) or obtain within 120 days of hire is required.
• Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of Enterprise Application and/or OS support.
• Must have proven experience with Scripting languages (i.e., PowerShell, VB Script, etc.)
• Familiar with and knowledge of Ticketing Systems (i.e., Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.)
• Strong capability to troubleshoot blueprints and workflows written with PowerShell, JavaScript and Python.
• Familiar with Linux, Windows Server, PhotonOS, NSX, VMware, Windows 10.

Salary Minimum: $57,500
Salary Mid: $115,000
Salary Maximum: $143,800
