Peraton's MIDS Program is adding  a Sytems Administrator to the team! This position is remote and will join a team of experienced administrators. 

What you will do:

  • Applies technical knowledge to assist clients in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems, network challenges, or system administration issues.
  • Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework.
  • Incorporates engineering strategies for introducing new technology into the customer's infrastructure related to its business processes of collection, analysis, production, and dissemination.
  • Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.
  • Applies knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture.
  • May participate in business development activities.
  • Responsible for initial design and development of new automation/systems or extensive systems revisions to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements
  • Ensures these automations/systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems
  • Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
  • Provides daily guidance and direction to colleagues and customers
  • Shares on-call responsibilities
  • Self-empowered to actively participate in a Dev/Ops team



Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 10 years experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree
  • VMWWARE 7.x version experience
  • 5+ years VMware Administration experience
  • 2+ years patch and vulnerability management
  • High level understanding of risks created by vulnerabilities
  • High-level knowledge of Active Directory and group policy objects.
  • Knowledge of process to rollback patches as needed
  • Ability to follow standard work and produce appropriate documentation
  • High level understanding of risks associated with controls like CIS
  • Able to independently troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to assist in audit data gathering
  • Familiarity with different hardware configurations a plus. e.g. 3-tier, hyper-converged.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust BI

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in GitLab, Ansible and Jenkins automation code
  • Cloud computing experience and knowledge
  • Experience with VCF
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Service Now
  • Experience with Cisco Hyperflex Servers
  • Experience with Dell VXRAIL Servers
  • Experience with HPE DL380 Servers

Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $72,500
Salary Mid: $145,000
Salary Maximum: $181,300

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
