Systems Administrator/Engineer - VMware/Windows, DoDAF/SOA/STE/STN (Security)

Peraton is hiring a Training Center / Lab Support Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Ft. Washington, MD.   

Location: Ft Washington, MD

As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.

You will:

• Support the operation and maintenance of all hardware and software in compliance with established policies required by the customer for their production and training networks.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related discipline plus at least 6 years of systems engineering experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
• Experience managing system requirements and deriving requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), Secure the Enterprise/Secure the Network (STE/STN).
• Experience assisting with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
• Experience performing market surveys/studies and providing recommendations for a new and improved software to enhance IT capabilities.
• Experience establishing, maintaining, and submitting the annual Baseline Exception Request Plan for all IT equipment procurements.
• Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Desired Qualifications:

• Provide support for network programs and applications from VMware ESXi 6.7, Vcenter, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, Sharepoint, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Research new software and hardware solutions
• Research options for system backups solution
• Assist troubleshooting Active Directory, DHCP and DNS complex issues
• Work with ISSO and ISSE on how to meet system security requirements to maintain accreditation
• Able to Lead the deployment and planning to maintain the back-end infrastructure as well as guidance for junior team members.
• Experience with any of the following: VMware ESXi 6.7;Microsoft Exchange 2013 and 2016; Microsoft Server 2012 and 2016; Secure the Network (STN) Standards; User Activity Monitoring (UAM); IBM Big Fix; MS SharePoint; MS Active Directory; MS Windows Desktop Computing; Remote Desktop Management; MS PowerShell Integrated Scripting Engine (ISE); MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access); Adobe Professional; Adobe Creative Cloud; Blackboard; Avaya phone systems; Cisco phone systems; Skype for business
