Cloud Software Engineer II

The Cloud Software Engineer II will work with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. Peraton is seeking a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements. Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java and have some experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Additional knowledge of Hadoop, Accumulo, Prometheus, tracing technologies such as Jaeger, concurrent programming, and Linux OS development would benefit the candidate.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java and have some experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Possess additional knowledge of Hadoop, Accumulo, Prometheus, tracing technologies such as Jaeger, concurrent programming, and Linux OS development 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
