Responsibilities

Peraton requires Cloud Systems Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad. 

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract

(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide

USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs),

and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network

Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and

common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct

training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Under the direction of the Cloud Systems Engineer, the Cloud Systems Administrator will perform tier one and tier two windows system support within AWS in both NIPR and SIPR networks; monitor and maintain client OS and EC2 instances; troubleshoot network and security configurations within AWS to ensure both security and high- availability are met; and be responsible for ensuring all STIGS are in place and address ACAS findings are patched and cleared for both the client OS and the instance. Cloud Systems Administrators must have a strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals and be familiar with AWS terminology and interfaces. Cloud Systems Administrators must have a working knowledge of cloud networking and virtualization, possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s systems’ software and security requirements.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Under the direction of the Cloud Systems Engineer, supports the implementation of Cloud technologies
  • Providing cloud planning and engineering guidance
  • Supporting the execution and after-action phases of current cloud operations
  • Supporting the operation, maintenance, integration, and administration of cloud databases
  • Supporting the management of hardware, software, and cloud computing infrastructure.
  • Developing resources including current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions.
  • Assisting with the managing of storage resources located in the
  • Monitoring and managing storage systems and performing support for storage resources located within cloud services in response to incidents, reconfigurations, installations, or other physical or logical changes
  • Providing on-site and cloud capable support
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining relevant cloud-based databases as well as database
  • Support resources aligned to current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions
  • Troubleshooting the enterprise cloud, and data networks and evaluate the impact of architectural changes on the network.
  • Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades within AWS
  • Building AWS instances based off of system and mission requirements
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving instance, software, and networking issues
  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software
  • Maintaining, updating, and refining documentation

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance is required. 
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II AND MCSA – Cloud Platform OR MCA OR AWS Cloud Practitioner OR CompTIA Cloud Essentials OR Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate OR Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  • Two to four years of experience as Systems Administrator.
  • One to two years of experience as Cloud Administrator.
  • Prior experience support cloud technologies to include Azure, AWS, and Google
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Networking experience
  • VMware virtualization experience
  • Understanding of DISA STIGs

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
