Position Description

Peraton is seeking a LMS Application Administrator/Tester to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area to set standards for operational, administrative, and technical specifications for the LMS and ensure the learning environment is stable; perform maintenance for the LMS and provide support to customer in the administration of online courses; configure and support the Blackboard environment; ensure data accuracy and integrity; participate in and/or lead the testing and implementation of Blackboard functions; perform and document changes related to Blackboard configuration and enhancements; resolve problems related to Blackboard and escalates issues as needed to Blackboard technical support; utilize effective collaboration and communication skills to communicate information and processes effectively to all stakeholders and provide large scale development, testing, deployment and O&M for the Intelligence Community. The selected candidate will provide LMS Application Administration/Tester services in support of enterprise-enabled Java web applications used throughout various environments and domains.  Duties and responsibilities include:   

  • Manage LMS functions, including system monitoring, data management and reporting, maintenance of system parameters, management of user roles, and interface with integration vendors.
  • Ensure exams and various surveys are configured according to customer requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between end users and Blackboard support.
  • Analyze current processes and business requirements to make recommendations for improvements, as well as new features, integrations, and applications
  • Interface with vendors and technology providers to configure, test, and implement tools and functionalities to enhance the LMS environment
  • Provide training recommendations and document LMS application functionality
  • Participate in integrating, planning, testing, and implementation of new technologies in Blackboard and subcomponents to include Genius SIS
  • Review and evaluate LMS/LCMS hosted content
  • Create, track and resolve Blackboard support requests with vendor
  • Diagnosing and identifying, application-level problems
  • Collaborate with functional owners in preparing prototypes, user guides, test cases, use case scenarios, supporting production environments and maintaining test and systems plans, scripts and documentation
  • Collaborate with functional subject matter experts to develop and write functional design and specifications
  • Gather requirements through interaction with multiple customers of the LMS solution across the IC
  • Perform research on existing systems and procedures and make recommended solutions when necessary
  • Prioritize user and functional requirements
  • Troubleshoot and complete problem reports in a detailed manner
  • Develop and maintain functional requirements
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts
  • Develop and maintain user guides
  • Develop test cases/plans and user case scenarios
  • Develop and maintain test procedures to verify functional requirements
  • Develop and maintain traceability matrices showing tracings from functional requirements to test cases
  • Perform requirements analysis and execute and debug test cases
  • Participate in meetings as required

Qualifications

BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2

 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in any computer, engineering, or technical discipline with at least 5-7 years of experience, Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience 
  • A minimum 3+ years of application administration experience with Blackboard Learn Learning Management System
  • Must be a US Citizen; ability to obtain or eligibility for TS/SCI clearance adjudication, and ability to pass a poly
  • Must be ORGANIZED, a SELF-STARTER with the ability to grasp new concepts and applications
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines to meet application deployments
  • Familiarity with Building Blocks, Grade Journey, user roles, implementation, maintenance of courses, monitoring system logs and troubleshooting user problems in Blackboard
  • Must have proven experience with the various aspects of Software Development or Agile Life Cycle such as equipment, inspection, code review, integration, verification, regression, acceptance testing, project initiation, planning, development, and production
  • Must be proficient with MS Office tools
  • Experience with at least some of the following applications: JIRA, Service Central, SharePoint
  • Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Proficient with Genius Student Information System (SIS), Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) and Software testing
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have sound judgment
  • Attention to detail, quick learner, have a positive attitude, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess critical thinking skills, reading and interpretation, writing, and communication skills
  • Able to work closely with all project stakeholders while delivering solutions

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
