Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a CNO Virtualization Developer to support a critical mission of consequence within our Cyber Mission Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD.  In this position you will perform a combination of software design, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop software capabilities taking into account the underlying hardware on which they run
  • Optimize algorithms and software implementations in order to meet requirements such as binary size, utilization, and performance
  • Perform Agile development, accurately estimating the time to complete tasks
  • Respond to time-sensitive operational requirements
  • Understand how malware is detected by personal security products and/or network monitoring and methods to evade such detection
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing of software products (e.g. unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests)
  • Develop software implants that have network communications and the ability to persist across reboots
  • Document software designs, explain performance tradeoffs made, and decompose high-level designs into specific software development tasks
  • Develop, find flaws in, and modify complex algorithms that span multiple layers of abstraction
  • Recommend new technologies and processes to achieve assigned goals

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, System Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of software engineering / reverse engineering / vulnerability research experience;
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Computer Network Operations to include Computer Network Exploitation (CNE), Computer Network Attack (CNA or computer security experience on Windows, UNIX, or Mobile platforms. 
  • Active TS SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Embedded virtualization
  • Strong proficiency in C programming
  • Memory management
  • Windows internals
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols; SSL security layers
  • Reverse Engineering for debugging
  • Python scripting

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
