Responsibilities

Peraton seeks experienced Department of Defense (DOD) Gateway Operations Managers to manage a team of system operations responsible for local and remote operations at NCTAMS PAC.

 

This role requires experience in managing a shift of operators in subordinate watch sections, reporting and escalating issues and troubles, resolving disputes or disagreements, training operators, preparing, and submitting periodic and recurring reports, maintaining a Master Station Log, and conducting periodic security rounds of their buildings and compound.

 

Major Job Activities:

  • Manages a shift of operators in subordinate watch sections responsible for local and remote operations.
  • Escalates reports to higher authorities and customers in accordance with the NCTAMS PAC reporting SOP.
  • Ensures the balance of workload to an integrated support team managing the daily (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) care and operations of equipment located in multiple geographically separated locations.
  • Maintains Standard Operating Procedures and develops procedures to assure maximum availability of operational assets.
  • Helps resolve disputes or disagreements.
  • Ensures Operators are properly trained, executing, and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Provides timely reports on Equipment Status, Trend Analysis, Hazardous Conditions (HAZCON), and Outages.
  • Maintains the sites Master Station Log and ensures all events occurring on shift are accurately documented.
  • Responsible for the site’s security. Conducts periodic security rounds of the building and compound.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

 

Work schedule 24-hour X 7 support, 8-hour shift (morning, evening, night, weekends)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active and current Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • 4 years’ direct experience
  • Has an IAT-II Baseline security certification and one or more Operating System or Computing Environment (OS/CE) certification(s) in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV-M 5239.2
  • Has a broad knowledge of SATCOM/Global Teleport site and systems to include operations and maintenance functions.
  • Meets the qualifications of CSWF Code 47 Position and DoD Directive 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management, DoD Directive 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program and SECNAV M-5239.2 Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce Management and Qualification Manual.
  • Can obtain EKMS 301 certification within 30 days of hire.

Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of specialized experience
  • Possesses EKMS 301 certification.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
