Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a DRSN Field Service Engineering Supervisor for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Secure Communications Operations and Maintenance (SCOM) (GMD SCOM) contract located at Fort Greely, Alaska to support our Fort Greely DRSN mission-critical 59th Signal Battalion customer.

 

The DRSN Field Service Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the following but not limited to: 

  • Oversee all the DRSN PWS paragraph contract responsibilities and ensure 100% compliance with DRSN PWS requirements and supervise DRSN technicians and subcontractors
  • Operate and maintain the Digital Small Switch 2-A (DSS-2A)
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair of DRSN equipment and Integrated Services Telephones (IST) devices, perform maintenance on DRSN equipment to include replacement of circuit cards or major subassemblies, perform component level work (down to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)) as necessary, and Perform all O&M actions IAW Defense Information System Network (DISN) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Guide and Technical Manuals
  • Maintain a Master Station Log IAW DISA Circular 310-D70-30, chapter 12
  • Perform database management to include telephone number changes, hotline changes, conference changes, routing changes, etc. as directed by MDA telephone control officer (TCO), DISA, or COR
  • Perform Crypto device updates and perform CRO duties, operate Enhanced Command Consoles (ECC), performance Preventive Maintenance, and perform refresher and familiarization training on the IST, Touch Screen Executive Telephone (TXP), Digital Small Switch – 2A (DSS-2A), Channel Encryption Unit (CEU), ECC, SPARC Workstation (Maintenance Console), Miniaturized Dual-Function Adapter (MDA), Digital Phone Multiplexer (DPM), Universal Digital-Loop Transceiver Multiplexer (UMUX), KIV-19M, and other related DRSN user equipment for all DRSN users/subscribers as required by the Government
  • Assist the Government customer with inventories

 Additional Duties

  • Perform maintenance on SATCOM equipment to include AN/GSC-52A Satellite Communication terminals and perform Operator Maintenance on HVAC, Generator, and assist with HEMP Power System (HPS) maintenance
  • Maintain Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and oversee compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) practices
  • Perform Node Site Coordinator (NSC) duties, quality control inspections, ancillary training tasks, and perform duties as Alternate Site Manager

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree with eight (8+) years of related experience; Master’s Degree with six (6+) years of experience; PhD with three (3+) years of experience; Associates Degree with 10+ years of related experience; High School Diploma with 12+ years of related experience is required
  • Current and valid Security+ Certification required with continuing education
  • Eight (8+) years of experience with DRSN equipment
  • Two (2+) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Attended and passed the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) course for SDS, RSU, DSS-2, or DSS-2A and database (GENEA) maintenance military technical course
    • Remote Switching Unit (RSU)
    • Digital Small Switch 2-A (DSS-2A)
    • Command and Control Switching System Database Maintenance Course (Secure Digital Switch (SDS))
    • Command and Control Switching System and Peripherals Maintenance Course (Secure Digital Switch (SDS))
    • Command and Control Switching System Database Maintenance Course (Digital Small Switch (DSS))
    • Command and Control Switching System and Peripherals Maintenance Course (Digital Small Switch (DSS))
  • Familiar with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) certifications
  • Must be willing to work outside of standard 40 hr work week/ M-F when needed, as directed by the customer

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of related experience; Master’s Degree and eight (8+) years of experience; PhD and five (5+) years of experience; High School Diploma and 14+ years of related experience is required
  • Networking backgrounds
  • Sufficient knowledge of telephone equipment, Digital Central Office (DCO) equipment, operating principles, practices, procedures, and concepts in order to operate and maintain the DRSN equipment and to ensure that adaptations, modifications, or expansions to the installed telephone system are IAW established procedures, precedents, or specifications
  • Sufficient knowledge of telephone system equipment maintenance procedures, policies, and requirements for telephone cable outside and inside plant, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and DCO equipment to perform maintenance according to all applicable equipment manuals
  • Knowledge of computer data transmission equipment and systems, Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN), T-1, and Packet switched data over private and public switched networks
  • Knowledge of telephone Maintenance Administration Consoles practices and policies

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
