Kazakh Linguist and Cultural Advisor ? Al Udeid AB - Qatar TS/SCI

Peraton is seeking a Kazakh Linguist and Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a large program. This position is in Doha, Qatar at Al Udeid AB.

The Kazakh Linguist/CULAD will provide continuous monitoring, expert analysis, and assessment of global, regional, and tailored area geopolitical media and news sources specific to the Central Asian States.

The position is an unaccompanied one-year assignment that can be extended by the customer and if elected by the individual chosen to provide support.

Role and Responsibilities:

• To gather information on trends, behaviors, events and directed global developments to generate media synopsis reports and assessments of local geopolitics and foreign media discourse

• Provide expert advice to DoD/MIL leadership of social media influence operations, draft policy, doctrine, decisions, trends concepts, and studies.

• Produce predictive recommendations and identify anticipated strategic communications opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and support communications plans
• Monitor industry and technology trends in traditional, digital, social, mobile media
• Use directed, or design research methods appropriate to pre-defined client criteria
• Interpret and analyze oral and written source material such as classified reports, data, briefings, and conversations
• Provide cultural expertise in written or oral form in both Kazakh and US English
• Analyze data for coded patterns of information
• Interpret data for information for a range of deductions encompassing breadth of subjects

Basic Qualifications:

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree and 8 years of experience (May consider 14 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
• Five years of experience as a researcher monitoring media and providing analysis of trends, political events, and geopolitical impacts

• Overall knowledge of the Central Asian States AOR
• Previous experience with US Military forces in a direct supporting role to MISO/IO/IW/IRCs
• Minimum of 5 years working or living within the CCMD AOR

• A minimum of 4/4/4 testing scores both in English and Kazakh

• Superior Kazakh reading, writing, and speaking skills

• Ability to provide high quality presentations and work with small and large groups
• Have an in depth understanding of the cultural differences, nuances, customs, symbolism, mannerisms, and traditions of the various ethnic groups residing throughout the Central Asian States

• Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication in English
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have a current and Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility

• Must possess a valid US Passport, not expiring within 6 months
• Must be fully eligible for Qatar Visa
• Must be willing and able to deploy and abide by required COVID quarantine requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent Native Cultural Experience
• Ability to speak Russian
• Experience with Information Operations
• Broad Experience as a media monitor/researcher for the DoD
