Responsibilities

As an Information Assurance Systems Administrator, you will be working in a small, close-knit team of government and Peraton IT/IA professionals maintaining systems used to analyze US Navy submarine sensor and signature data.

 

Working on-site at the Navy ship design center of excellence, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, in West Bethesda, MD

 

Must have:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Active DoD security clearance (Secret) and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design, development, and procurement of data acquisition / processing systems and networks in accordance with DISA IT / Cybersecurity / IA policies, principles and best practices.
  • Support all Assess and Authorize (A&A) efforts of NSWCCD networks and systems including design, building, and maintaining such for use by NSWCCD programs in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Support of classified systems shall include acting as Media Transfer Agents and COMSEC custodian where required.
  • Install, test, upgrade, and maintain network operating systems software and hardware to facilitate optimization of Code 73 supported infrastructures. Develop, document, and maintain stable and reliable environments to assist in software development, data collection, storage and analysis.
  • Operate, maintain, develop, upgrade, and test computer networks, SANs, databases, mail services, and acquisition and analysis systems used in support of surface ship and submarine acoustic trials programs.
  • Provide desktop and server administration support for operation and maintenance services for RDT&E networks to include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and / or training, in response to customer requirements for the Network Environment (NE). Write and maintain scripts in the NE.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to NE systems and equipment.
  • Routinely scan and remediate Research, Development, Test and Engineering (RDT&E) computers. Ensure that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements.
  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security / information assurance policies, principles, and practices, in the delivery of IT support for NSWCCD ranges and Fleet deployed acoustic data acquisition and processing systems.
  • Maintain IA certifications appropriate to position.

Qualifications

  • BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 6-8
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Active DoD security clearance (Secret) and U.S. citizenship.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally (up to 20%).

The following skills are highly desirable:

  • Knowledge in Information Assurance, network scanning, and remediation techniques utilizing WSUS and ACAS.
  • Knowledge of network security through Active Directory with managed group policies.
  • Knowledge in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance of large Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Exchange Servers.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with DoD computer security directives and instructions.
  • Knowledge of designing, configuring and maintaining, relational databases through SQL Servers and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge in installing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software, operating systems, and networks.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
